American actress Amber Heard has attracted a lot of media attention since the legal battle between her and her ex Johnny Depp has begun. Amber Heard’s career has only grown with time. She first appeared in the 2003 music video “There Goes My Life” by Kenny Chesney. Amber also appeared in television series like Jack and Bobby (2004), The Mountain (2004), and The O.C. (2005). In movies, her debut role was in the 2004 movie Friday Night Lights. Later, she got the lead role in All The Boys Love Mandy Lane (2006).
In 2008, Amber Heard got recognition for her performance in Pineapple express (2008) and Never Back Down (2008). Her career further soared as she acted in the movies like Drive Angry (2011) with Nicholas Cage, Paranoia (2013) with Liam Hemsworth, and Machete Kills (2013) with Danny Trejo and Michelle Rodriguez.
Heard also appeared in the 2015 movie The Danish Girl, where she worked with Eddie Redmayne. But it was in 2017 her career went into overdrive. She became the part of the DC Extended Universe, taking the role of Mera, Atlantean Queen and wife of Aquaman. At first she appeared in the 2017 Justice League film in a supporting role, but she appeared again in the 2018 movie Aquaman.
She recently appeared in the 2020 Stephen King drama series The Stand.
What is Her Take on 2021?
2020 was a rough year for Amber Heard. She has been involved with legal troubles and social backlash. Currently she is a part of three cases – the first being the defamation case by Johnny Depp, the second being the libel case of Depp and News Group where she is testifying. The third one is a countersue by her for the first case.
Apart from this, petition to remove her from Aquaman 2 also happened this year, the reason behind her countersue. However, Heard is ready to face 2021. In an interview with Access Hollywood, she talked about what she took from last year. According to her, adapting and surviving as the key. The better we manage to change ourselves from within, the better we would be able to thrive.
Few days before this interview, Johnny Depp also shared his takeaway from 2020 on social media. He acknowledged the year being rough on all, but looked forward to what lies in the future.
Amber Heard’s Upcoming Movies
Currently, Heard has been promoting her ongoing series The Stand. As of now, there are no upcoming movies in 2021. However, Amber Heard would reappear in Zack Snyder’s Justice League this year. She also said that she was going to return in Aquaman 2, filming this year.
Apart from the DCEU movies, Amber Heard was casted in 2018 as the lead actress in Fred Grivois’ Run Away With Me. Initially planned for a 2019 release, the story is about an American in Paris who falls for a model. Things don’t go smoothly as both get embroiled in the criminal underworld of the modelling industry. As per IMDb, this movie is under pre-production.
