A Brief About The Series
Jujutsu Kaisen is an ongoing manga series created by Gege Akutami. Since March 2018, the chapters are being published in the Weekly Shonen Jump. Currently, 14 volumes are out, with the fifteenth arriving in March this year. As of now, 25 million copies have been sold, making it one of the bestsellers of all time. Plus, MAPPA has adapted the series for a 24 episode long anime, which is broadcasting since October 2020.
The story is about Yuji Itadori who is physically gifted but avoids the sports club because of the time it requires. Instead he joins the Occult Research Club. His grandfather, before passing, advises him to always help people and to die surrounded by them. Yuji later encounters a sorcerer Megumi, who informs him about a cursed talisman the occult club found.
Unaware of the consequences, Yuji’s friends unseal the talisman, releasing a rotten finger. The finger begins to summon creatures called Curses and wreak havoc. To save Megumi, Yuji eats the finger, becoming a host to the king of curses, Ryomen Sukuna. Because Sukuna is extremely powerful, the sorcerers want to eliminate Sukuna along with Yuji.
But Yuji gets spared till the time he consumes all 20 fingers of Sukuna. This would allow the sorcerers to finish him for good. After that, he moves to Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High where Satoru Gojo mentors him. Yuji is now under constant watch, should the curse overcomes him.
