All series on Netflix on one side and Black Mirror on one side. It’s like there is something different, new and unique with the English series ‘Black Mirror’.
What is this English series about?
Black Mirror is a British science-fiction television series which shows the relationship of modern society with the technologies and its different kinds of effect on us.
This anthology television series is created by Charlie Brooker. ‘Black Mirror’ is inspired by an anthology series such as ‘The Twilight Zone’. The creator of the show wanted to keep the anthology approach in this British series as he explained, “There were a signature tone to the stories, the same dark chocolate coating- but the filling was always a surprise.”
This super hit English series which has scored 8.8 ratings out of 10 on IMDb came into existence at the end of 2011. And since then this series has premiered for twenty-two episodes in five different super hit seasons. Black Mirror has won eight Emmy Awards.
This show is one of the hits on Netflix but it used to air on Channel 4 until Netflix bought it in September 2015. The first and the second season of the show premiered on Channel 4 in 2011 and 2013 respectively. After that, the third, fourth and fifth season of the show premiered on the most famous streaming platform Netflix in 2016, 2017 and 2019 respectively.
But after the finale of the Black Mirror Season 5 on June 5, 2019 fans have been desperately looking for the next season in the series and we have the answer to that.
Black Mirror Season 6
Well, now the main question is whether Season 6 is happening or not. For Black Mirror to return to our screens with the new season Netflix should renew the series first for the new season.
For now, Netflix hasn’t renew the series for the sixth season. The creator of the show Charlie Brooker gave away some information about the sixth season of the show and it wasn’t good.
In an interview with Radio Times, he said, “I’ve been busy, doing things. I don’t know what I can say about what I’m doing and not doing. At the moment, I don’t know what stomach there would be for the stories about the societies falling apart, so I’m not working away on one of those. I’m sort of keen to revisit my comic skill set, so I’ve been writing scripts aimed at making myself laugh.”
From this, it is hard to say when Black Mirror will return with the new episodes. For now, all we do is to hope that Netflix renew the series for the new season.
At the current moment, there is no information regarding the production and filming of the new season so giving an official release date is very hard. But we have to make a guess then we can hope to see the Black Mirror Season 6 in early 2022.
Brooker also opened about how he is going to continue with experiment the format of the show as he said, “We could do one-offs, we could do an ongoing story, we could do spin-offs.”
Right now all we can do is hope for the best as Black Mirror will surely return to our screens with its sixth season.
