Ozark is an American crime drama series created for Netflix. The series is created by Bill Dubuque and Mark Willams. It is produced by Media Rights Capital. The actors starring in the series are Jason Bateman and Laura Linney who play a married couple and relocate their family to the Ozarks for money laundering.
The first season was released on July 21, 2017, with ten episodes. The second season was released on August 31, 2018and the third season was released on March 27, 2020. In June 2020, the series was renewed for a fourth and final season, which will have 14 episodes that will be split into two parts.
The show received positive acclamation from critics and received appreciation for the theme, acting, directing, and writing. The series has received 32 Primetime Emmy Award nominations which include two nominations for Outstanding Drama Series, with Bateman winning for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series in the year 2019.
Is Season 4 the final season of the show?
Netflix has officially confirmed that season four is the closing season for Ozark, but they seem satisfied with making the final show a genuine television series. Not only will the season have a developed 14-episode run, but it will also be released in two separate slots of seven episodes stretching out the suspense even further.
Theories on Ozark Season 4
Season four probably looks at Wendy’s decision to let her brother Ben die and what effect this might have on her and the rest of her family especially Jonah Byrde who took his uncle’s death unacceptably.
Let’s wait and watch what would happen in season four, but there are plenty of unfinished storylines to pick back from Season 3. The show’s lead writer Craig Mundy said that “I think it will be about if the Byrdes can they turn the biggest mistake of their lives into this huge advantage, and how much will karma catch up with them if they do?”.
And with the fourth season now confirmed to be the final end, fans are hopeful that as many storylines can be wrapped up and have been putting forward their own theories as to what might happen in the concluding season.
The cast for Ozark Season 4
While casting for the final season is yet to be confirmed, we can make a guess at predicting which Ozark cast members will make a comeback based on who is still alive.
Jason Bateman will lead the final season. The actors of the show who plays Marty Byrde, with Laura Linney as Wendy Byrde. We can also expect to see more of their daughter Charlotte (Sofia Hublitz) and son Jonah (Skylar Gaertner).
Other important cast members include Julia Garner as Ruth Langmore, Charlie Tahan as Wyatt Langmore, Lisa Emery as Darlene Snell, and Felix Solis as cartel boss Omar Navar.
It remains to be seen whether some of the supporting characters will still be part of the story, including FBI Special Agent Maya Miller (Jessica Frances Dukes), Frank Cosgrove as Sr (John Bedford Lloyd), or Sam Dermody as (Kevin L Johnson).
The filming of the series is delayed due to the ongoing pandemic. Jason Bateman who is the star, producer, and director said that the production on season four would begin in November, which means that the series will release in the latter half of 2021, as past seasons have taken five to six months to get completed.
