Sylvester Stallone’s Samaritan May Resemble Will Smith’s Hancock: Here’s Why

Hollywood actor Sylvester Stallone is all set to be hitting the silver screens in 2021 in the upcoming superhero flick Samaritan. The Rambo star will be starring in the film which is said to be an alternative take on the superhero genre flicks.

Julius Avery of Overload fame is the director of the film. Samaritan is the story of a  young boy who is searching and trying to discover if an old, legendary superhero is still alive who had vanished 20 years ago due to an unfortunate death.

Who is the young star sharing the screen with Stallone?

Young Boxer and talented child actor Javon Walton will be seen sharing the screen with Sylvester and will be playing a lead role opposite Stallone. Walton shared a picture with the star on his Instagram account in December 2019.

The actor starred in the 2008 action/ fantasy comedy superhero film Hancock. Hancock was the story of an unpopular superhero who is zero and has no respect from the people. He then meets Ray who is a Public relations officer who takes the responsibility of upgrading Hancock’s public image.

Similarities between Samaritan and The Hancock

In both, films The Superheroes are lost and are not optimistic as usually portrayed in popular superhero movies. Both of them are lost and directionless in their lives. The 2nd leading actors in the film have been shown having a savior complex who save people and help them by fixing their problems.

In the film, Hancock Ray is a White Savior. It is a term referred to as a white person who helps a non-white person. Both the superheroes have experienced life’s ups and downs individually. Hancock and Samaritan both possess the strength of a superhero who is also a human when it comes to expressing his feelings and emotions. Both are intense and are extreme when it comes to their emotions. The film is all set to release on 4 June 2021.
