The Greg Berlanti-produced drama series Doom Patrol is reportedly coming back for a third season and will be adding another lesser-known villain to its list of characters which will possibly be Garguax. Read the article to know more.
Garguax
Created by Arnold Drake and Bruno Premiani, Garguax made its first appearance in 1964’s Doom Patrol #91. The exiled leader of an alien world, Garguax, often allies himself with the Brotherhood of Evil and hopes to conquer Earth. Previously, he also served as a villain for Niles Caulder’s team of misfits.
On account of some old reports, the third season would feature key members of the Brotherhood of Evil, including The Brain, Monsieur Mallah, and Madame Rouge. We have already seen Garguax as a member of the Brotherhood, and now the fans are excited to see how large a role he will play in the new season.
Cast
The Doom Patrol features Diane Guerrero as Jane, April Bowlby as Rita Farr, Alan Tudyk as Mr. Nobody, Matt Bomer as Larry Trainor, Brendan Fraser as Cliff Steele, Timothy Dalton as Niles Caulder, and Jovian Wade as Cyborg. It will be available for streaming on both HBO Max and DC Universe with its second season.
Showrunner Jeremy Carver said in an interview, “On behalf of the wonderful cast, writers and crew, we are thrilled and grateful for the opportunity to return to Doom Manor. And we are especially thankful for our partners at Berlanti Productions, Warner Bros. Television, DC Universe and, of course, HBO Max,”.
Regarding the change of platform, DC’s Jim Lee told, “The original content that is on DCU is migrating to HBO Max. Truthfully, that’s the best platform for that content. The amount of content you get, not just DC, but generally from Warner Media, is huge and it’s the best value proposition. … We feel that is the place for that.”
Sarah Aubrey, head of original content, HBO Max, has also shared her thoughts by saying, “Doom Patrol came to HBO Max with an already deep and passionate fan base and has risen to the top as one of the most-watched Max originals on the platform. The series sits well in our portfolio and we are glad to greenlight a third season to continue this distinctive style of storytelling that resonates so well with critics and fans alike.”
