Famous celebrity Wendy Williams is an American broadcaster, businesswoman, writer and radio personality. Her life had been so much interesting for the audience. That led to her biopic-Wendy Williams: The Movie.
Wendy’s personal life, especially her marriage with television producer Kevin Hunter has always been a hot topic. Kevin’s cheat on Wendy is not unknown to people. The biopic also gave detailed information about the double decade lasting marriage of Wendy and Kevin. Here’s the timeline of the couple’s controversial relationship.
First Meet
Wendy Williams was first married to Bert Girigorie, which lasted for five months in 1994. In the same year, Williams met Kevin Hunter in New York city. Kevin was hosting a kids skating party. Wendy and Kevin realized their connection on the very first meet. Both of them started dating a few months later. In this time Wendy got pregnant with Hunter’s child, suffered a miscarriage at five months.
Marriage
In 1997, Williams and Hunter finally got married and conceived their second child. Unfortunately for the second time, Wendy suffered another miscarriage at around 5 months. However in 2000, in the third attempt Williams and Hunter successfully gave birth to their son Kevin Jr.
During this third pregnancy, damage had started to grow. In her lifetime documentary- ‘Wendy Williams: What a Mess’, Wendy shares the story of her discovery on Hunter’s cheating.
According to Wendy: “I wake up like 2:00 in the morning to go to the bathroom. I’d just delivered him like two months ago. Big Kev wasn’t in the bed and then I walked into little Kev’s nursery and I heard my husband talking greasy on the phone up in one of the guest rooms.” Wendy added: “And he was clearly talking to a girl.
And then I lost it….he told me it was some girl, some bank teller he met at a bank, he’s ending it and so on and so forth and I honestly believed that.”
Kevin’s Affair
Wendy at her son’s birth time forgave Kevin. But that does not help Kevin not to cheat again. In 2017, Kevin’s affair finally came into public. In an interview with Billy Bush, Wendy recalled her experience: “Kevin cheated on me while I was pregnant with my son and I found out and I could have divorced him then…Kevin was a serial cheater- Kevin had different mistresses depending on the part of his life. The last one was the one he had the longest term relationship with.”
Wendy also shared that she had hired an investigator to find Kevin’s truth and it was successful. However in 2017, The Daily Mail reported that Kevin Hunter had an affair with Sharina Hudson for longtime. The duo was living together in New Jersey.
Divorce
This total discovery of Hunter’s affair led the former couple to separation. Wendy filed a divorce in 2019 against Hunter on the basis of Hudson’s pregnancy with his child. In 2020, the duo finally got divorced.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight- Wendy told that she is not interested in her ex’s baby: “The baby? No, why would I want to meet her? I don’t know her?” She added: “Do you know where your father was the night that your mother was giving birth? He was with the lady on TV, Miss Wendy. Because he was with me.”
Wendy Williams: The Movie premiered on 30th January, 2021 at 8 PM EST. Ciera Payton and Morocco Omari have played Wendy Williams and Kevin Hunter. The movie shows Wendy’s journey to become her own talk show host and a successful media personality.
