Disney+ series WandaVision set off the fourth phase of the Marvel Cinematics Universe a couple of weeks ago. After this, another series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is ready to premiere on screen. While we await another set of heroes to reappear, looks like there is someone new in town.
We all expected Sam Wilson/ The Falcon to continue the name of Captain America. It certainly looked like that. But a new character could prove to be his rival as the successor. Here we are talking about John Walker, who is created like Steve Rogers by the Government. It will be played by actor Wyatt Russell.

Wyatt Russell is the son of renowned actors Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn. Born in L.A. he is known for playing Zook in 22 Jump Street(2014), Corporal Lewis Ford in Overlord(2018), and Sean “Dud” Dudley in the 2018 series Lodge 49. He has also made appearances in movies and series like Cowboys & Aliens(2011), Ingrid Goes West(2017), Black Mirror(2016) and Arrested Development(2013).
Wyatt will soon appear as John Walker/ U.S. Agent in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
Who Is U.S. Agent?
John Walker tries to honor his martyred brother’s legacy by becoming a war hero himself. Initially turning into a villain called the Super Patriot, he is finally brought around by Steve Rogers. During Rogers’ retirement, the Government enlists Walker to be his replacement. But later, when Rogers returns as Captain America, Walker takes on a new identity, U.S. Agent.
Walker has a more ruthless personality as compared to Rogers. Although his costume looks similar, the differences are visible. U.S. Agent’s costume is darker in tone. As for abilities, he possesses super strength like Rogers. He is also trained in multiple forms of combat. Since he was not initially feeble like Rogers was before the experiment, Walker surpasses him in physical endurance, strength, and speed.
He also carries a shield with him. During his time as Captain America, he uses Rogers’ shield. Later he also uses a vibranium shield and a shield with retractable spikes.
What Role Would He Play In The Series?
While it is not clear what role John Walker will play in the series, he is surely donning a Captain America costume. A MiniMates toy actually has a Captain America-John Walker version. But then it could be a typo. The character carries the round shield, but the front symbol is similar to that of U.S. Agent, the difference being the ‘A’ in the star symbol.
The probability is that Walker, will be introduced as Captain America from the start. The replacement to Captain America will be covered. However, it will be Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes who will fight him if he goes bad. Maybe we get to see him as an upcoming ally as well if the two succeed in bringing him round.
But one thing is for sure, U.S. Agent will be an important part of the series.
