Aquaman is a recent American superhero film released in 2018, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures and is based on the DC Comics character. It’s probably the sixth film in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU).
The lead character is played by Jason Momoa, which may I add like putting a cherry on top, who, upon discovering his identity, has set out to lead the Underwater Kingdom of Atlantis and have to stop his half-brother, King Orm, from uniting the seven underwater Kingdoms who wants to go against the surface world.
It grossed $1.148 billion worldwide, making it the highest-grossing DCEU film, the highest-grossing film based on a DC Comics character (surpassing 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises), the fifth highest-grossing film of 2018, and the 20th highest of all-time at the time.
The most recent update is Aquaman 2 is supposed to be released in December 2022, and a spin-off, The Trench, is in the process.
Emilia Clarke or Margot Robbie- whose role will it be?
No official news has confirmed Amber Heard being replaced as Aquaman 2, but fans haven’t stopped thinking about the possibility. Fans have even taken the initiative to discuss who should replace Heard as Mera.
Emilia Clarke has been a long fan favorite for the role, and many artists have even photoshopped her photos to give an expectation about the reality. Emilia Clark’s past role with Jason Momoa on Game of Thrones has earned her a reason for the fans to mark her as.
Despite the plea to get Amber Heard fired from Aquaman 2, there is no news of her leaving the part. Margot Robbie is even confident that Aquaman 2 will have her for Mera’s role as she said in a recent interview, “She is excited to work on Aquaman 2”.
Even suggested that the rumors were paid ones that came after her ex-husband Johnny Depp was fired from “Fantastic Beast 3”. Margot Robbie is particularly thrilled about the upcoming movie. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for the role to be the ones who can keep the essence of the character.
