Pedro Pascal Hints Possible Time Jump in ‘The Mandalorian Season 3’

The first-ever live-action series in the Star Wars franchise, The Mandalorian has become a hit among the fans of the franchise as well as the new watchers. While we know there will surely be a third season and three spin-off series, every piece of information counts as to what is coming next. It seems that there is something to expect.

About The Mandalorian

The story of the series begins five years after the events of “Episode VI: Return of the Jedi” and the Empire has collapsed. A Mandalorian works as an intergalactic bounty hunter. He is recruited by whatever’s left of the Imperial forces. The hunter, also known as Din Djarin, has to bring back the child Grogu to them. Grogu is from the same species as Yoda.

Din Djarin accepts the task, but later dishonors the deal. He chooses to protect Grogu and return him to his species. But the mission is not easy as the Imperial forces are now onto him. It is revealed that they want to tap Grogu’s connection to the Force.

Two seasons are currently streaming, with a third in development. Apart from this, three more series are arriving, connecting with ‘The Mandalorian’ – The Book of Boba Fett, Rangers of The New Empire, and Ahsoka.

Could We See Time Leaps?

Pedro Pascal, who plays Din Djarin has given us all a hint in an interview with IndieWire. As per his words, the makers have filled him with what’s going to happen next. Despite he couldn’t share the details, he did say that the world was going to expand. With the expansion, the makers would be working on some surprises as well as timelines.

He further said that if a crossover was to happen, it would be in an unexpected way. What characters would be a part of this would spoil the element of surprise.

What Could This Mean?

First and foremost, the word ‘timelines’. The animated series Star Wars: Rebels added the element of time travel to the franchise. Dave Filoni, who was one of the showrunners, is also a part of The Mandalorian team. Just recently, time travel was also a part of Lego Star Wars: Holiday Special.

Irrespective of whether the timelines of The Mandalorian and the three series will be the same, they will surely connect with each other.

Secondly, ‘crossovers’. It would actually be interesting and more practical to get the current characters be a part of another series. If done right, it would make the connection strong.

Thirdly, knowing the series happens before Episode VII: The Force Awakens, this could certainly affect the events of the sequel trilogy. How massive the effect would be, we can only know when the third season arrives along with The Book of Boba Fett.
