The trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard gets more confusing on the second day when Amber Heard was questioned about having an affair with the billionaire Elon Musk. The affair allegedly existed when she was ‘married’ to Depp. Amber, however, denied such claims.
About The Trial
Johnny Depp married actress Amber Heard in 2015. The marital bliss was short lived as Heard filed for divorce a year later, in May. She accused Depp for verbally and physically abusing her. The divorce was approved in 2017.
Later, Depp sued Heard in 2019 for defamation against him through an article in The Washington Post, along with another libel case against The Sun for calling him a wife beater in one of its articles in 2018. According to him, that article was based on the premise that Heard was the victim of domestic abuse and he was the one torturing her.
Depp added that all this was a hoax against him. Amber Heard, has denied all his claims and kept her stand of him abusing her.
What Did Amber Heard Say About The Incident?
Johnny Depp’s lawyer, Eleanor Laws QC questioned Heard regarding the incident on May 21, 2016. On the question that she was not having any injuries when she spoke to Trinity Esparza, the concierge manager; she replied that she certainly did. Describing the incident, she said that she had no choice but to leave Depp after he hit her with a phone.
She said that she was afraid to leave him. She reached out to her friends and her support group and finally decided to seek a restraining order. Apart from the incident, Heard also said that Depp threatened her multiple times to hurt her face or hire someone to hurt her if she left him. Depp was accused of saying that death was the only way out of this relationship.
What About Claims Regarding Elon Musk?
Laws read out ‘text messages’ shared between Heard and Musk the next day of the incident. According to the messages, Elon Musk offered The Rum Diary actress 24/7 security. In the messages, Musk further said that the offer stood even if she did not want to see him again. It only mattered because he liked her.
Depp’s lawyer also brought forward that the guard at the Eastern Colombia building had testified against her. Alejandro Romero, the guard, had said in his statement that Elon Musk regularly visited her since March 2015, at around 11pm to midnight. Moreover, Heard gave him his personal access to the building.
Heard said that the guard was wrong, because she wasn’t in communication with Musk until 2016. She denied having an affair in 2015 while in marriage with Depp. The trial is still in process.
