The Fourth Phase of ever-evolving Marvel Cinematics Universe has finally begun. Just not in the way it was expected. Phase Four was supposed to be helmed by the solo Black Widow movie last year.
But the release was put on hold due to the pandemic. Now it has officially begun with the Disney+ series WandaVision last Friday. And maybe we get to see a familiar face in the later episodes.
About the Series
WandaVision is an American miniseries which continues the story from the first three phases of the MCU, with Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch and Vision being the protagonists. Both of them are living together and things seem to be perfect as they try to blend in with the society, hiding their powers. However, it may not seem perfect for long.
The series focuses on the relationship between the two, with Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany reprising their roles. The first two episodes were released on January 15, with the rest of the episodes planned to be released once a week.
Evan Peter’s Possible Appearance
The series will have some interesting cameos like Kat Dennings as Darcy and Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo. Prior to the premiere, Paul Bettany also teased that a surprise character would appear in later episodes. However, he neither mentioned the character no the person who would be playing it.
A number of unofficial sources reveal that Evan Peters is also set to appear in the show. His scenes were shot last year, as per We Got This Covered. Peters has already been a part of Marvel’s X-Men series, where he played Quicksilver.
As a fact, he is Wanda’s brother in the comics and was portrayed by Aaron-Taylor Johnson in the MCU. His character was killed in the 2015 movie Avengers: Age of Ultron.
The X-Men series never became a part of the universe. So Peters returning as the speedster is highly unlikely. But that’s not the only character he could play. As per Grace Rudolph, a twitter user, the 33-year old could also play Mephisto, a demonic being.
Looking at his performance in American Horror Story, it would be nice seeing him play that. Another possible character he could play is Nightmare, ruler of a dream dimension who can extract energy from dreaming people.
Where to Watch WandaVision?
You can watch the first two episodes of WandaVision on Disney+. New episodes will be out every week.
