The latest smartphone in the Google Pixel series, Pixel 5 released in UK, US, and Australia in October last year. It has been a few months and speculations about what the next phone will have has been storming the internet. Here, we will lay down what can we expect from the Google Pixel 6.
Front and Rear Camera
A report by Patently Apple gives a sneak peek on the feature the new pixel phone will be having. The report says that Google was granted a patent for the design. It features an under-the-display camera, meaning the camera will be concealed under the screen. The screen will have no front hole but the camera will still work.
The rear camera will be on the top-right position of the phone when turned over. Looking a the design, it is certain that it will a dual-lens camera and possibly a square protrusion or simply a square area that would house the lens. We have already seen this on Pixel 5 so it must have improvements in the next version.
Other Possible Features
The quality of the rear camera for Pixel 5 is 12.2 MP (Primary) and 16 MP (Ultra wide), with front camera quality of 8 MP. Hopefully Pixel 6 provides more than that. Apart from this, it should have at least a 6.0 inch OLED screen. There has been no mention of the fingerprint sensor, but it is certain that it will be there in some or the other way.
As for the internal features, there are speculations that it will have an 8 GB RAM and 256 GB of internal space, double than that of Pixel 5. It would be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with a stronger battery life and quick charge support. For connectivity, it needs to support dual band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a port for Type-C.
When Will It Release?
The Google Pixel 5 came out in October. Its predecessor, Pixel 4 released the same month in 2019. So we can say that Pixel 6 will release in the last quarter of 2021. Although no date is officially confirmed, it should release during this time or pessimistically, in January 2022, tops.
