Disney Plus has finally dropped the first season of much-anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe original series, WandaVision. The arrival of WandaVision has set several things in motion, including the inclusion of other Marvel characters in the MCU. Marvel Studios can introduce several characters in the ever-expanding cinematic universe after Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox.
Fans have been always expecting the introduction of X-Men and were wondering how the studio will pull it off. Now, it looks like there is a window to include X-Men in the MCU, starting with WandaVision. The reports claimed that Evan Peters, who played Quicksilver in the original X-Men series has been reportedly cast as Quicksilver in WandaVision.
In Fox’s mutant series, Peters portrayed the role of Peter Maximoff aka Quicksilver. He reportedly appeared on Days of Future Past, Apocalypse, and Dark Phoenix as the fastest man on earth in the film’s universe. Fans, as well as the critics, have praised Peters’ performance in the film series. Murphy’s Multiverse is the first to report the involvement of Evan Peters in MCU. The fan website has been particularly reliable in reporting the details, especially from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
According to the publisher, Peters has reportedly completed filming for the original series. However, the studio hasn’t confirmed his involvement yet, either the actor. A source earlier reported that the actor was approached for an undisclosed role in the first MCU original series. The other report says otherwise, the actor has indeed filmed his part but he may not take the role of Quicksilver.
In the MCU, Quicksilver has reportedly faced death. Aaron Taylor-Johnson played Quicksilver as Pietro Maximoff in Avengers: Age of Ultron instead of Peter Maximoff due to conflicting rights among the studios. However, Pietro died in the movie, as he sacrificed himself to protect the civilians and particularly Hawkeye from the assault of Ultron’s army. We may potentially see Evan Peters’s appearance in WandaVision in coming weeks.
