The Mandalorian Season 3 theory, Sebastian Stan’s Luke Skywalker might return and here’s how.
After a breathtaking success with season 1 and season 2, Star Wars The Mandalorian is finally going to have a 3rd season. The Star Wars franchise itself has a huge fanbase. Recently Disney has taken the rights of The Mandalorian from Lucasfilm.
Season 3
Lucasfilm’s head Kathleen Kennedy have announced soon after the season 2 premiered, that The Mandalorian season 3 will come on Christmas 2021. Fans have to wait for a whole year to know what will happen to Din Djarin and Grogu.
Though Lucasfilm has not announced any official season 3 cast list yet. But following the last season some of the major characters have high chances to return. Pedro Pascal aka Din Djarin, Gina Carano aka Cara Dune, Carl Weather aka Greef Karga will surely return. Most importantly Grogu/Baby Yoda will return too.
Now in the season 2 ending many past characters have been shown and there is no specific announcement has come that they will return or not. The characters such as Boba Fett(Temuera Morrison), Fennec Shand(Ming-na Wen), Cobb Vanth(Timothy Olyphant), Bo-Katan(Katee Shackoff), Moff Gideon(Giancarlo Esposito), and Ahsoka(Rosario Dawson) might return in season 3.
Luke Skywalker
Coming to the most anticipated question regarding The Mandalorian. What will happen to Luke Skywalker in season 3, and who will play the character? Well Star Wars fans were allegedly requested by director John Favreau to cast Sebastian Stan as young Luke Skywalker. People know Skywalker originally belongs to veteran actor Mark Hamill.
Mark has played aged Skywalker and become a familiar face. But in the second season’s ending, makers added a cameo of young Skywalker by de-aging Hamil’s face through CGI. That de-aged CGI has uncanny resemblance with Sebastian Stan. That’s why fans are wanting Stan to play young Luke.
Reports claim that Disney and show creator John Favreau have considered fans’ urge to cast Sebastian Stan. But it will get a green signal if Mark Hamill gives full approval.
Season 3 Theories
There are many possible angles on what will happen on The Mandalorian season 3.
One theory is, who will finally get the Darksaber. In season 2 fans have seen, Mando has unknowingly claimed the Darksaber by defeating Moff Gideon in chapter 16. Gideon is the current owner of Darksaber. Whereas Bo-Katan who also wanted to have the weapon from Gideon will now have to fight Mando.
2nd theory is Mandalorian season 3 will also focus on the storyline of young Luke Skywalker and Grogu. The Jedi master will train The Child and realise it’s force abilities. In the 3rd plot, which will show what Moff Gideon is upto. In season 2, Gideon was connected with an unknown informer. Now the question comes: who is the informer?. Fans assume it can be Thrawn or some new character.
Now another storyline is what if Grogu is becoming evil? Luke is training the Child who’ll become the Yoda. Also Ahsoka is on the hunt for Thrawn and Ezra. With all these possibilities fans will have to wait for season 3 to release. The Mandalorian is available on Disney Plus.
