The iPhone is a smartphone created by Apple Inc. It uses the iOS mobile operating system of Apple itself.
Apple devices are the most demanding handset since 2007. The latest smartphones of Apple were iPhone 12 Mini and 12 Pro max which was launched on 13th November 2020. But now Apple has come up with some changes regarding the Display of its smartphones. Have a look at it!
What is going to change?
Apple has decided to change the display of the upcoming iPhone 14 models. It has been heard that Apple will use LTPO OLED displays in all four iPhone 14 smartphones.
According to The elec., it is rumored that Samsung is going to be the supplier of these LTPO OLED displays. LTPO panels are considered to be more efficient regarding power rather than LTPS panels.
Advantages of LTPO OLED panels
Very less people know that LTPO was actually developed by Apple and was used on the Watch series 4. But the first smartphone which is said to use this is Samsung’s Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. Coming onto the main advantage, without having any additional hardware, LTPO have an adaptive refresh rate. LTPO panel is expected to have a refresh rate of 160Hz.
However, if we look at its bad side, LTPO panel technology requires an oxide layer for its production. As a result it takes longer time and it is thus expensive.
When will we see this change?
In 2022 we can see the change in the display of all four iPhone 14 models. But at the very same time, it should be able to use LG display as it’s secondary source in order to reduce dependence on Samsung display.
Meanwhile, the upcoming iPhone 13 is also said to be a part of the change. There are rumors that the Galaxy S 21 series can also use the LTPO panel.
