The chances are 50-50. Actor Johnny Depp is currently looking forward to his next trial against wife Amber Heard. Depp lost two vital roles in his intriguing filmography- Gellert Grindelwald and Jack Sparrow. But there is still hope.
Libel Case Against The Sun
After losing the libel case against UK based magazine The Sun, Depp is literally facing the downfall. Depp was targeted as “Wife Beater” by The Sun. Depp sued the magazine for allegedly defaming him without verdict, but lost the case in November 2020.
Replacements
This resulted in Depp’s immediate replacement in the Harry Potter spin-off- Fantastic Beasts franchise. Johnny is reportedly replaced by actor Mads Mikkelsen for the role of Gallert Grindelwald. Rumors are Warner Brothers forced him to leave the role after the case verdict.
Now another heartbreaking news came for Depp’s fans. Disney has also out-listed Johnny Depp for Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of The Caribbean franchise. Who will replace him is still not confirmed. Though Depp’s fans are outraged and are signing petitions to oppose Disney’s decision.
Next Big Case
In this situation, everyone is looking forward to the very next trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. There is still hope if Johnny wins the case, his fans will surely get to see him returning to the big screen.
But according to insider Daniel Richtman, if the verdict turns negative for the actor, he may be done with his acting career. This could lead Johnny losing the chance of getting a major production house’s offer for lifetime. But if the verdict turns positive, the tables will turn.

The three time Academy Award winner Johnny Depp currently has 2 projects in his hands for 2021. One is Minamata- a biographical drama, another is the educational animation series Puffin. But no production houses are taking the risk to release this movie anyway.
