MCU is one of the best franchises ever created by Disney. MCU consists of 23 movies Saga with Superheroes like Iron Man, Captain America, The Hulk, Thor with many more. With so many movies came great behind the scenes footage and statements and casting choices. One of the great Castings was Chris Hemsworth for Thor.
He played that role with great passion and really submerged into his act. But many of us don’t know that He was not the first choice for the role of Thor. He came much later. Before Chris, the role went to Daniel Craig, then Tom Hiddleston, then Liam Hemsworth, and then our guy Chris.
THE STORY BEHIND:
His brother Liam Hemsworth, actually came close to play the role of Thor, the God of Thunder, in MCU. At the time of the shooting of Thor, Chris Hemsworth was not a famous figure in Hollywood aside from the role in Star Trek. But Liam Hemsworth was signed alongside Miley Cyrus in The Last Song.
Chris Hemsworth was way behind his brother in the acting career. His brother even got a call back from Marvel to give a screen test for the role with some other people.
HOW HE BECAME THOR:
At that time Joss Whedon was shooting a horror movie with Chris Hemsworth and became his chance for the role. Joss Whedon will direct the first Avengers in the future. He called the executives at Marvel and the Director of Thor and asked them to give Chris another chance. And the second time, The director loved him and asked for a screen test with Chris Hemsworth.
He will go on to play Thor in eight different Marvel movies including the Endgame. The last Avengers movie and become one of the highest-paid actors of all time.
