Everything you need to know about Riverdale is here! The show brought the fourth season to an end but we have way more to hope for. With the ongoing pandemic, the shows’ production was hampered with, leaving season 4 with only 19 episodes.
We look forward to season 5 of Riverdale but the question is, will this be the final season? We’ll have all of the answers covered for you! Read on to find out more.
Will this be the final season?
Fans hate to see their favorite tv show come to an end so soon. After the trailer and poster for season 5 came out, fans now ponder whether it’ll be the last time they see Riverdale. Actors Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes, KJ Apa and Cole Sprouse are working on other projects too amidst covid-19. To directly answer the question, chances of this being the final season is probably unlikely. Riverdale is indeed popular of its kind and The CW does not like to cancel shows too soon.
Additionally, the actors must be in a contract when they got into the show. Back in March, KJ Apa confirms to the LA times and according to them, “Though he wouldn’t get into the specifics of his contract — which he said is the same for all of the show’s leads — Apa said he’ll be on Riverdale for the next three years.”
Does this mean the show will run on from 2020-2022? Maybe there is a chance of season 6 running sometime later. In contrast, one reason that maybe the show may not run is that high school shows are hard to prolong. What happens after graduation may not be relatable or relevant anymore.
To conclude, another season or two of Riverdale is very highly likely considering all factors. Nonetheless, we’ll take it with a grain of salt. Season 5 will premiere on 20th January 2021, so stay tuned until then!
