It’s very sorry to say to Sherlock fans that the fifth season won’t be coming in the year 2021. According to the production, there will be no chance of Sherlock Season 5 releasing in the upcoming year.
From 2010, when it aired on BBC, it gains a lot of love from Sherlock Holmes lovers, and generate a huge fanbase over the world.
But here are some news that can actually please the Sherlock fans. Season 5 of this series will come up with Benedict Cumberbatch as the title character. According to the sources, it’s confirmed that Sherlock Season 5 is coming to Netflix and BBC.
In the previous, Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman take the lead roles in the series, which ended back in 2017.
Why season 5 not coming in 2021?
To be honest, neither the cast nor the crew appears to be hopeful about the prospect of another season. Scott who played the role of criminal said in an interview with Digital Spy that season 5 was unlikely to come to fruition. He also said that it’s not sure that, he will return in the next season. It may or may not be possible for him.
Another star cast, Martin Freeman says in an interview with Collider that,”They are few and far between, the way the story went, in the last series, felt like, if not a full stop, then certainly a semicolon or an ellipse. It felt like a pause”. On the other hand, Sian Brooke seems more optimistic about her role as Sherlock’s sister.
So, it’s very clear that the cast is not sure about Sherlock Season 5, and when actually it’s releasing.

Though there will be no proper press release about the cast from the officials, it’s hoped that Benedict Cumberbatch will return as the main character. He will be joined by Martin Freeman as Watson. Most probably Sian Brooke also returns as Sherlock’s sister.
In an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk Sian Brooke said she would love to come back to play Eurus.
When Sherlock season 5 may be released?
There is no official news or official statement regarding the release of season 5. But we can expect the show to come to the box office in the year 2022 or in early 2023.
Sherlock Season 5 Update
Sherlock is a home for every person, yup home because it keeps us binging their episodes again and again. The plotline, the actor, the performance, and thrills, it’s all mind-blowing. Season 4’s ending gave us hope that maybe there will be a season 5. We left off Season 4 with Holme’s childhood and with Doctor John dealing with his issues.
This Season will most probably focus on Doctor John and maybe on Holmes’ childhood a bit more deeply. After today’s announcement by BBC, it’s still said to be hanging by the maker’s hand but it can neither be canceled nor renewed for now. Hence, be excited because it will be coming back one way or the other.
