After We Collided – the 2020 sequel to After (2019) is now available to watch on-demand. It picks up where the last movie left off, getting deep into the relationship between Tessa Young and Hardin Scott, the central characters of the series. While the chemistry of both the actors on-screen is passionate and racy, it has left fans thinking if they are actually dating, for real.
The Speculation
Fans began to question if Langford and Tiffin were actually dating when they first appeared together in his birthday party in 2018. Since the release of the first After movie, they have been seen together on the red carpet on multiple occasions. With the second movie, where the on screen relationship has been appreciated by fans, it has also taken the rumours about them dating to a new level.
What do they say?
Langford has confessed about being very private when it comes to her personal life. She admis about being an overthinker and how these traits do not make her socialize about her life on social media.
She did say in an interview with Refinery29 that she wants to be herself and honest but also does not want to feel uncomfortable and exposed at the same time. Regarding the rumors, she said in another interview about how fans love to see the on-screen couple together in real life.
Tiffin, in an interview with Elle, did say he was single and never actually entered into a proper relationship with anyone. He added that he never had a girl who he could call his girlfriend. Neither Langford nor Tiffin have anything concrete enough to conclude that they are together or in any other relationship on their Instagram handles.
In a recent interview by Stylecaster, she did open about what would be an ideal relationship for her. The actress admitted that she was not interested in a roller coaster crazy relationship like Tessa and Hardin.
She further said that she did not look at the on-screen couple as an ideal relationship. As per her opinion, a relationship should be simple and easy. However, she did not explicitly say she was dating Tiffin.
So Are They Dating, or Not?
Later, in October 2020, in an interview by Entertainment Tonight, Tiffin said that the two were just ‘good friends’, apparently brushing off the rumors. While this could be seen as a really good performance to keep the audience confused, it would not be surprising for the fans if they come out as dating together. However, for now, that seems unlikely and we can conclude that the two, as Tiffin said, are good friends and nothing more.
About ‘After’ Series
After is a 2014 YA fiction novel series by Anna Todd who has also written for the two movie adaptations. The story is about Tessa Young, played by Josephine Langford, a college freshman who falls in love with her roommate’s friend Hardin Scott, played by Hero Fiennes Tiffin. As of now, two movies After and After We Collided, have been released. Two more sequels – After We Fell and After Ever Happy, are currently in development.
