The Young Artist Award Winner and the star of the series ‘Pit Pony’ Elliot Page is a Canadian actor and producer who has also been seen multiple times in the trailer Park Boys and ReGenesis.
This star is loved and adored by millions of people mainly because of his outspoken activism for the LGBTQ Community. We all know that even in this century, even after billions of people opening up to the idea of having more than one gender in society, we still see judgment on a huge basis.
But Page has been extremely supportive and has used his star power and reach to access the hearts of millions of people. He has done his best to allow people to know and understand what it actually is like to learn to love and accept yourself without any fear.
What is the big announcement made by Page?
Earlier this month, on December 1st, the page announced that he, in fact, is a member of the LGBTQ community himself. We can all understand how difficult it must have been for him to gather the courage and come out of the closet. Sometimes, in the industry, that can also impact you negatively.
This is what he wrote on Instagram:
“Hi friends, I want to share with you that I am trans, my pronouns are he/they, and my name is Elliot, I feel lucky to be writing this. To be here. To have arrived at this place in my life. I feel overwhelming gratitude for the incredible people who have supported me along this journey. I can’t begin to express how remarkable it feels to finally love who I am enough to pursue my authentic self.”
What was the reaction that he received?
Elliot Page received all the love and support that he could. He thanked his fans saying “Thank you from the bottom of my heart.” and was very appreciative of the whole reaction.
Not only this. Along with coming out to the whole society and industry, he also promoted the nonprofit hotline called ‘Trans Lifeline’ which is a community that offers love and support – emotionally and financially to the vulnerable and unsupported Trans persons in need of help.
It is so difficult to find people who are this accepting and open-minded with a big heart towards all kinds of people and we definitely need more people like Elliot Page.
