Zoom to Lift 40-Minute Meeting Limit for Hanukkah, Christmas, and New Year for Free Accounts

One of the best things about the year 2020 was video calling. With the pandemic raging, and social distancing becoming the new normal, having to at least talk, watch, and keep a track of our loved ones was a gift sent from heaven, via video calling.

Everything became a little easy, with Zoom calls. If you wanted to conduct a meeting or have your school and college lectures or learn a new skill, and have coffee and conversation with your friends and family, Zoom was always available.

The possibility to have more people on a call than just 8 or 10 was the biggest advantage for all “Work from Home meetings’’ or a family get together to celebrate or just catch up. The only disadvantage was forty minutes time limit for all non-paid meetings and get-togethers.

With the holiday seasons in full swing, Zoom has lifted this time limit, a welcome relief for all. As of now, there is no end to Covid – 19 related restrictions, with the cases rising. All the festivities would be a little subdued this time around, but for the safety of all, we have to take the precautions possible.

A Blessing

And Zoom lifting this limit is a true gift for all of us who want the feel and our families around us, especially in such difficult times. The following is the list if the days when all free accounts have this facility.

  • 10 AM ET Wednesday, December 23rd, to 6 AM ET Saturday, December 26th, for Christmas Eve and Christmas
  • 10 AM ET on Wednesday, December 30th, to 6 AM ET on Saturday, January 2nd, for New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, and the end of Kwanzaa
