Even though there are maybe at least a couple of years before we see MCU’s Captain Marvel 2 on the big screens again, there are some tidbits coming from the big guys with regard to who and how will it shape up.
Jude Law confirmed
As per reports, Jude Law is confirmed to reprise his role as Yon-Rogg, the teacher to Captain Marvel. We saw in the first part, how Marvel packs him back to Hala, by which we could say that there is more to that story arc. The official confirmation could take longer as there is still a lot of time between now and the final production, and things could change between then and now.
The storyline
As we know all that comes out of the MCU is always interconnected and a continuation of a storyline from some of the other products. The executive producer Kevin Feige confirmed that Captain Marvel 2 will be a continuation of the first Marvel movie and the events will take place before the Avengers: Endgame events.
Another rumor doing the rounds is that the story of the second part could be a cosmic horror with Carol Danvers’s involvement with SWORD forming A-Force. Samuel L Jackson and Cobie Smulders will reprise their roles as Nick Fury and Maria Hill.
There is also a series in development for Disney Plus called Secret Invasion, which will directly tie into Captain Marvel 2. So it may happen that they release the series first followed by the movie.
The MCU guys are looking for a female director to helm the Captain Marvel project. Carol will assemble the A-Force under SWORD ( Sentient World Observation and Response Department) to fight threats from the cosmos, which could include members like She-hulk, spider- woman, scarlet witch, and lady thor too.
