One of the most Iconic brands for cars, the pioneers of the Automobile Industry have always come with luxurious and comfortable models. Mercedes – Benz has always outdone itself in all things cars. The new GLA is no less, coming with a completely new look. The GLA model is the entry-level model in the SUV range of Mercedes-Benz.
The New GLA
This one comes with all-new interiors and exterior modifications too. The launch of the GLA was delayed due to the pandemic before it was to be launched during the festival season, now it is to come by December end or latest by January 2021.
It believed it will cost slightly higher than the current model which is between Rs 32 lakhs to Rs 42 lakh (ex-showroom). The hike is due to the changes to the make of the car. There is talk of introducing two variants of this second generation Mercedes-Benz GLA.
The changes
There is just one model with a 200d version, the new 2020 model could have a 200d and 220d variant which will be powered with a 2.2-liter diesel engine, whereas the 200d one will be with a smaller engine of 1.3-liter four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine kicking out 162 bhp.
With the new GLA 2020, the design is on the more rugged and grown upside. This model is taller by 104mm, and a wheelbase that is 30mm longer, which means more headroom in the first row and more legroom for rear passengers. This one is a bit shorter too so that it is a more comfortable off-roader. It also comes with protective cladding all around.
The new GLA 2020 will be available in both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive which is called 4MATIC by Mercedes. There will be additional features for the 4MATIC version for a better experience in off-road driving. The all-digital cockpit with a single display that doubles as an instrument panel and a touchscreen infotainment system, is one of the coolest interior features of the GLA 2020.
