State Bank of India organizes an annual exam to select the eligible and dynamic candidate for the post of Probationary Officers (PO). SBI PO is considered to be one of the fancy jobs of the banking sector in India. Once selected, a person can enjoy lucrative pay and progress to the post of chairperson after a few years. State Bank of India released the official notification for the SBI PO2020 examination on 13th November 2020.
Since SBI PO is a coveted job, there is a cut-throat competition for being selected as SBI PO in one of the SBI offices in India. SBI PO examination actually takes place in three phases — Preliminary, Mains and Interview. A candidate has to clear the certain cutoff set by the bank to advance in a further stage. SBI releases a final merit list based on the average performance across three stages for the final recruitment.
The interested candidates should apply for the exam early as the link to fill SBI PO form online expires on December 4. A candidate has to pay INRs 750 to fill the online application form. SBI announced 2,000 vacancies for the post of Probationary Officers (PO).
SBI PO 2020 Exam Date
This year’s SBI PO Prelims will take place for four days in December 2020 and January 2021 — 31st December 2020, 2nd, 4th, and 5th January 2021. SBI PO Prelims result will be declared sometime in the third week of January 2021.
The second stage — SBI PO Mains — will take place on 29th January 2021. State Bank of India will declare the result of the second stage in either the third or fourth week of February. Group Exercises and Interview will take place in February/March 2021.
SBI PO 2020 Exam Pattern and Syllabus
The examination mode is online and the duration is 1 hour for Prelims. English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability are the syllabus for the preliminary exam. A candidate will be punished with 0.25 Marks for incorrect answers.
Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, General Economy/ Banking Awareness, English Language, and Data Analysis & Interpretation are the syllabus for SBI PO Mains. SBI PO Mains will have 155 objective-based in four parts, and candidates have to complete in 3 hours. Furthermore, a descriptive test on the English Language (Letter Writing & Essay) is taken on the same day. Candidates have to obtain the cutoff marks in descriptive test to qualify for the next round.
SBI PO Eligibility Criteria
There are two main eligibility criteria that any candidates most pass. Indian nationals of age between 21 years and 30 years by 1st April 2020 can appear in the examination. These candidates should graduate from any recognized institution in any discipline.
