Star Trek Discovery Season 3 Episode 8: Story Leak! Burnham Discovers the Reason Behind the BURN

The science-fiction American web television series, Star Trek: Discovery has returned with the third season. Star Trek: Discovery takes place a decades before the events of original Star Trek television series. The first season focused on the war between the Klingon houses and the United Federation of Planets. While the war ended in the second season and Discovery investigates Red Angel and seven mysterious signals. The incident of the second season ends when Discovery travels 900 years to the future.

Alex Kurtzman and Michelle Paradise are serving as the showrunners for the third season. The major casts of the show, Sonequa Martin-Green, Mary Wiseman, Anthony Rapp, and Doug Jones returned for the new season. Star Trek Discovery Season 3’s first episode was titled That Hope Is You, Part 1 and premiered on October 15, 2020. Since then seven episodes have been streamed on the streaming service CBS All Access. Even though seven episodes have already premiered, we still don’t know the reason behind the Burn.

The latest episode, titled Unification III, tried to fill some gaps, but not completely. We may possibly know the reason behind the Burn in the next episode. The previous episode’s title links to the episode Unification from Star Trek: The Next Generation. In the episode, Burnham’s brother Spock tried to unify the Romulans and the Vulcans. They believe the Federation project SB-19 caused the Burn. However, Burnham believes with the help of data from SB-19, she can discover the source of the Burn.

Will Burnham discover the source of the Burn?

Ni’Var President T’Rina gave the SB-19 to Burnham at the end of the seventh episode. In the eight-episode, we can expect Burnham to decode the source with the help of SB-19. Jonathan Frakes, who directed the third episode will again direct the upcoming episode. Kenneth Lin and Brandon A. Schultz have written the upcoming episode titled The Sanctuary, which will premiere on the service on December 3, 2020.

The web television series is available on CBS All Access. If you are viewer outside of the US, then you can log into Netflix and watch it on the next day. Star Trek Discovery is also available on Amazon Prime, but you have to purchase or rent the episodes to watch it.
