No Game No life – Review and Season 1 summary

No game no life is a Japanese light novel series by Yū Kamiya. Season 1 gave us a strategic, heartfelt, and slightly psychological storyline that’s very unorthodox for this day and age of anime. This unique storyline is what makes it so special. It revolves around two kids Shiro and Sora, who are an undefeated group of gamers named blank. There’s another reality in which God of Games rules. This reality is very different from what Shiro and Sora play.

The god of games to chess suddenly challenges Shiro and Sora, and they win, to which the god of the game invites them to another reality. All the humans here are spellbound to resolve all their disputes through play. They are not allowed to steal or kill, and even the border and life of a person is decided by playing games. Cheating is allowed through discreet methods.
