James Bond actor Sean Connery dies, Daniel Craig Gives his Respects to Late Actor Sean Connery

Daniel Craig, Hugh Jackman, and Salma Hayek lead the stars sharing gushing messages of farewell to Connery, with the No Time To Die actor sharing a statement via the franchise’s official Twitter page that read: ‘It is with much sadness that I heard of the passing of one of the true greats of cinema.

Daniel Craig, the longest standing James Bond, said he felt “such sadness” hearing the news of Connery’s passing in a statement,
“It is with much sadness that I heard of the passing of one of the true greats of cinema. Sir Sean Connery will be remembered as Bond and so much more. He defined an era and a style,” Craig said in a statement reported by Variety. “The wit and charm he portrayed on the screen should be measured in megawatts; he helped create the modern blockbuster. He will continue to influence actors and film-makers for years to come. My thoughts are with his family and loved ones. Wherever he is, I hope there is a golf course.”

Connery passed away at the age of 90. An official cause of death has not yet been reported. He
played the superspy in six films overall spanning from 1962 to 1983
Connery, who appeared in seven 007 films in total, is said to have been unwell “for some time”.

Connery was a fan of Craig. In 2005, after he was announced as Pierce Brosnan’s 007 replacement, the actor called him a “terrific choice”.
