All PUBG Mobile servers that cater to Indian users will be switched off from October 30, the company has announced. The PUBG Mobile is already banned on Google Play Store and Apple iOS App Store. UBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite will no longer work in India from today. The company took to Facebook to announce that it will shut down all access and servers in India. The same message was also posted on the game’s community forum. The gaming app was banned by the Indian government in the second wave of the Chinese app ban over national security concerns. Along with PUBG, 117 other apps were banned in India.
Though the games were taken down from the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store on September 2 to prevent new downloads soon after the ban, shutting down of servers means the games will no longer be available to the existing users who had downloaded it before the ban.
PUBG Corporation also recently announced that they are withdrawing their partnership with Tencent, and that they will work with the Indian government to look for a quick resolution. They seemingly want to comply with all the existing laws in the country, and will take complete charge of operations. The publishing rights for the game in India were previously held by Tencent Games. However, following the Indian government’s decision to ban the game in the country, Bluehole Incorporated cut all ties with Tencent games, and decided to take the publishing rights of the game into their own hands.
