There has always been a constant competition between Apple and Samsung through the years. Usually, in the tablets’ sector, iPad has always been the dominating one. However, with Samsung’s latest release of the Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Tab S7 Plus, Android tablets might stand a chance against Apple to have the spotlight.
The Price and Availability
First of all, it is a known fact that these tablets are not budget conscious for an average customer. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 is tagged at $649.99 for the Wi-Fi only 128 GB model. Additionally, Galaxy Tab S7 plus comes with 5G and an increase in screen size. And it retails at $1049.99.
On the other hand, Apple devices are definitely not known for being affordable at all. Still you can get your hands on the iPad Air 4 at a price of $599 with a comparably less storage of 64 GB.
Coming to the high-end 256 GB model, it comes at a price of $879 with 4G.
The shipping for the Apple iPad Air 4 shall start in October. And the Galaxy Tab S7 and Tab S7 Plus are available now.
The Design aspects
Coming to the design features of the both devices. Both the tablets have rounded corners and narrower bezels. If you put them together, it might take a second for you to guess which one is which.
The color palette of the Apple iPad Air 4 include Rose Gold, Silver, and Space Gray. Also, Green and Sky Blue are available.
Here, Samsung offers Mystic Bronze, Silver, and Black colours.
The camera design:
iPad Air 4 contains a single 12 MP wide camera whereas, the Galaxy Tab S7 has 2 rear cameras. It provides a 13 MP main camera and a 5 MP ultra wide camera. The front facing camera of the iPad offers 7 MP pictures.
The new lock button even acts as a Touch ID sensor in the iPad. However, the Tab S7 also includes a fingerprint sensor on the lock button.
And additionally, it comes with an in-screen fingerprint sensor too.
The display features
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 offers 11 inch LCD display with a resolution of 1600 x 2560.
It offers an aspect ratio of 16:10 along with a 120 Hz refresh rate.
Meanwhile, iPad Air 4 comes with a Liquid Retina Display with a screen resolution of 1640 x 2360. However, the screen is slightly smaller than the Tab S7 with 10.9 inches.
Battery specifications
Apple has not revealed about the battery size. But it said that the device offers 10 hours of battery life which drops to 9 when on cellular.
Here, the Galaxy Tab S7 has an 8000 mAh battery. Samsung boasts that the device shall stand longer offering up to 15 hours of battery life. They support fast charging too.
Additional specs and features
The Apple iPad Air 4 is fuelled by the latest A14 Bionic chipset together with a neural engine that allows machine learning. This simply means that the iPad Air 4 is very fast and clever.
The device runs on iOS 14 which has some amazing features which are not present in Android yet.
On the other hand, the Galaxy Tab S7 is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 865 SoC. This also comes with a neural processor. It runs on Android 10 which has some cool features like enhanced privacy, etc.
Additionally, Samsung users can expand their storage up to 1 TB. Sadly, for Apple users, this is not possible and they are stuck with whatever memory size they purchase.

Finally, all we can say is that it is difficult to choose which one is the best. It all depends on your choice of the OS. If we look at the price, we can see that Samsung costs more than Apple in this case. However, if you wish to buy an Apple Pencil then the prices may vary.
If you are a fan of Apple devices, then obviously go for the iPad Air 4. However, if you wish to try out something new, then we suggest you go for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7.
