Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal recently launched the ‘Green Delhi’ mobile application, now with the help of this app citizens can bring pollution causing activities to the government’s notice.
The Chief Minister said the government wants to involve everyone in the fight against pollution as no big change can take place without the support of people. The app allows the users to click pictures or make a video of pollution causing activities, such as burning of garbage, industrial pollution, dust etc. and upload them on the application, the the application will identify the location and the complaint will be automatically forwarded to the concerned department for time-bound redressal, he said.
“We have prepared strict timelines for each kind of complaint. The departments concerned will also have to post a picture after the complaint is addressed.” Mr. Kejriwal said. The application can be downloaded from Google Playstore.
The application is currently available only for Android devices and has not yet arrived on iOS.
Commenting on the launch of the app, Delhi CM also said, “We have taken initiatives in the last five years as well following which the pollution here has been reduced by 25 per cent. We are still taking steps like all the thermal power plants are all closed in Delhi. Fuel has been changed in 95 per cent of the industries in Delhi. Now they are using non polluting fuels.”
