When recently, the LG G8X was available in India for Rs 19,999 many people believed that this was a deliberate marketing strategy by LG. Offering a flagship mobile for such a little amount would create a lot of hype. And LG would capitalize on the buzz, by releasing their two other smartphones- Velvet and the Wing. Well, it seems they were right. Because the LG G8X did succeed in creating the hype, and LG has just announced that they will be launching the Wing in India. For, the Velvet there still isn’t any news.
LG had unveiled the Wing in the US and Korea about a month ago. But, the Wing hasn’t been released in any other country since then. India is the third country that the Wing is releasing in. LG has started to send out media invites. And has also revealed the launch date- 28th October.
LG Wing Specs
LG Wing is the unique swiveling phone from LG. It has two screens. A 6.8-inch primary display and a 3.9-inch secondary display. The second display lies beneath the primary one. And is revealed only when you rotate the primary display clockwise. This smaller display will make multitasking easier. You can create an app pair to open on both screens. Or you can simply have a function of an app down below. For example, watch a youtube video on the primary screen, and comment on the secondary screen.
Internally, LG Wing will be powered by a Snapdragon 765G chipset. It will have 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. The device will have a 4,000mAh battery and will run Android 10 out-of-the-box.
On the camera front, the device has a 32MP pop-up selfie camera and a triple camera array on the back. The triple camera setup contains a 64MP primary sensor and two ultra-wide cameras.
LG Wing is priced at $999 (~Rs. 73,650) in the US and 1,098,900 won (~Rs. 71,350) in South Korea. So, the device should be available around the same price tag in India as well.
