Sony has been saying for months now, that PS5 will be able to play a lot of PS4 games through backward compatibility. And now, with only a month left before PS5 arrives, Sony has finally released the list of games that won’t play on PS5.
The list
The list contains only 10 games. These games are- DWVR, Afro Samurai 2 Revenge of Kuma Volume One, TT Isle of Man – Ride on the Edge 2, Just Deal With It!, Shadow Complex Remastered, Robinson: The Journey, We Sing, Hitman Go: Definitive Edition, Shadwen, and Joe’s Diner.
The list is short and that’s nice. (But just FYI Microsoft has announced that all the games dating back to the original Xbox will work on their new consoles.)
Some PS4 games will also get an upgrade thanks to PS5’s game boost feature. This feature is quite similar to PS4 Pro’s Boost Mode. All compatible titles will run smoothly and have high frame rates.
However, it’s not all good news, as Sony has announced that certain features on some titles might not work smoothly on PS5. Sony has advised people to first test their games on PS5. And then buy any DLCs or add-ons. They have also requested players to keep their console updated with the latest version to not run into any problems.
And if you are worried about the games that you have already downloaded on your PS4. Sony has confirmed that you can transfer all the games and data to your new PS5.
PS Now will also work on the new PS5. However, any PS4 games that are streamed through this feature, won’t be able to use PS5’s Game Boost feature.
