Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are in Cahir, shooting for their new film. They are shooting for the Ridley Scott movie, ‘The Last Duel’ which will release in 2021.
The locals have been gathering quite a lot to see the filming of the movie. This is not the first movie shot in Cahir, though. There have already been many movies shot there, the most popular one being ‘Excalibur’. The production house has booked the Cahir Castle for a few weeks.
They have co-written the script
The duo hasn’t written a movie together since ‘Good Will Hunting’. The Last Duel is their first writing collaboration since then. The movie is going to be directed by Ridley Scott. Ridley had previously directed Matt in Martian.
The Last Duel is an adaptation of Jager’s The Last Duel: A True Story of Crime, Scandal, and Trial by Combat in Medieval France. The book tells about dueling warriors in 14th Century France. The movie will be produced by Scott Free Productions and Damon and Affleck’s Pearl Street Films shingle.
Elsewhere, Damon and Ben will also be seen in some other projects. Matt is teaming with Tom McCarthy (Director of Spotlight) for Stillwater. While Affleck will star in Universal’s I Am Still Alive.
