The latest Chromecast along with Google TV is expected to be unveiled on September 30. Google code named the device a few months ago as Google Chromecast 4 Sabrina previously and its remote as Abbey. But alas! Here are the leaks and renders of the upcoming Google Chromecast.
What is Chromecast?
To put it simply, Chromecast is a media streaming device by Google. You can basically plug it into your HDMI port of your TV and enjoy the show.
The newest renders show us the Chromecast along with a remote. And guess what. They have YouTube and Netflix buttons on them.
At its event on September 30, Google is scheduled to launch its other hardware along with the Chromecast. These renders are almost close to the final product at the unveiling.
After a long wait and several rumours, the users have been blessed with the renders.
In contrast to the circular Chromecast devices of the past, the oval plastic HDMI is kind of longer than expected.
A user-friendly remote with Netflix and YouTube options
Also, the pictures show that the remote will come with a revised button layout. At the top there is a D-pad present along with back, home and mute buttons. It also comes with a Google Assistant button below and power and input buttons. The volume controls are placed on to the side of the remote. Also, as said before, it has Netflix and YouTube buttons inculcated in it. The remote apparently also makes the device user friendly.
The underlying technology is the same as its previous versions. A four-core AMLogic S905X2 SoC is put together with 2 GB RAM and a small internal memory.
The forthcoming Chromecast is said to be compatible with Android TV and stream in 4K HD. Also, the OS is expected to be restored to Google TV together with the inauguration of the new device. It is a known fact that neither Roku nor Fire TV is compatible with HBO Max or Peacock. Well Chromecast has an upper hand on both of them as it supports both HBO Max and Peacock.
One of the previous reports said that Chromecast shall be available at least in three colours. They include summer melon (pink), summer blue and rock candy (gray).
Expected price tag
The Google Chromecast is most likely to be tagged at $49.99. This price is notably less than the Chromecast Ultra which retailed at $65.
