The Card That Arrived After 100 Years: what inside that card?

How will you react if you happen to find a letter at your doorstep, which was mailed 100 years back?

Well, this happened in Michigan last Tuesday. A woman woke up to a strange letter in her mailbox. Brittany Keech, on a very normal day was going through her mails, she didn’t give much thought to it as people barely send postcards anymore and also she was busy with her kids ,but was quite amused when she stumbled upon a card which was mailed almost 100 years ago.

On further reading it, she noticed that the card was postmarked 29th october, 1920. The card had her Belding, Michigan address but was surprisingly written to someone named Roy McQueen in a very faded cursive writing. The card read:

“Dear cousins,

Hope this will find you all well.  We are quite well but mother has awful lame knees. It is awful cold here. I just finished my history lesson and am going to bed pretty soon. My father is shaving and mother is telling me your address. I will have to close for a night. Hope grandma and grandpa are well. Don’t forget to write to us – Roy get his pants fixed yet.”

The letter was signed by Flossie Burgess. It was Halloween themed and the cover page had a black cat holding a broom, a bat, a goose and an owl, along with a woman in a weird hat.

The card also had a George Washington one cent stamp on its back side and some smudged postmarks that said Jamestown.

There is still no clarity what delayed the card so much as it was mailed decades ago before she was born to her address. It all seems to be a little creepy after all, the card also arrived in time for Halloween.

Keech posted a number of pictures of her Facebook page and certain groups, hoping to find the rightful owner or someone known to McQueen or Burgess. She also informed that there are two ladies who are helping her out looking into their genealogy.

Further, several people posted more such old documents related to it in the comment section that might help solve the mystery.

Keech wants to return the card probably to a family member and says she even might have a lead on one possible relative.
