Nintendo Switch 2 Will Support the 4K Gaming, Release Date, Specs, Features, and All Things We Know

The rumors about the second-generation Nintendo Switch kicked following the announcement of upcoming high-end gaming consoles, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. The recent reports claimed that the upcoming generation of Nintendo Switch could feature 4K gaming and other incredible features. Yes, of course, the device wouldn’t come anywhere near to the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, but will certainly be more powerful with wild features than the previous one.

Nintendo has stayed silent regarding the official announcement of Nintendo Switch 2. But that doesn’t mean the Nintendo Switch isn’t coming. Switch 2 may not feature the stuff like 8K gaming and ray tracing, but the initial report says that the device will have dual-screen support. A report earlier suggested that the company wanted the developers to come up with various 4K games for potentially a new Switch model.

Nintendo Switch 2 release date

The company has already announced that they are not going to release any new Nintendo Switch model in 2020. Meanwhile, multiple leaks are claiming that the new device will launch in 2021. The popular hybrid console from Nintendo could be arriving in early 2021, according to the Taipei-based report. Shortly after, Bloomberg also reported the potential 2021 release date. Bloomberg reported that the new Switch would come with 4K gaming support and several 4K games lineups.

Bloomberg later reported that the company is asking the developers of already available games (in Switch) to make playable in 4K. As of now, Nintendo has released three versions of the Nintendo Switch. The first-gen Nintendo Switch released in 2017, and the Switch with upgraded battery in August 2019. The company then released the Lite version of Nintendo Switch on September 20, 2019.

Nintendo Switch 2 features

Multiple reports claim that the Nintendo Switch could have a power boost in the performance. An earlier leak found in 4Chan—which is now deleted—claimed a massive performance upgrade with Nvidia Tegra Xavier processor and a 64GB SSD. The upcoming Switch would be called Nintendo Switch Pro instead of the Nintendo Switch 2. The other prominent features are 4K video support and two USB-C ports.
