Apple Inc. is reportedly going to release a new over-ear headphone later this year that will join the poplar AirPods lineup. The rumors claim that the smart headphone will be named as the AirPods Studio. This will mark the third device releasing this or next year in the AirPods line up after AirPods 3 and AirPods Pro 2.
The rumor hit the internet in early 2018, but there weren’t any striking leaks or reports. Now, multiple leaks have surfaced and claimed that the headphone would release alongside AirPods 3 later this year. AirPods Studio will be the first over-ear headphone developed by the company.
AirPods Studio Release Date and Price
As of now, we don’t know the official release date of the upcoming AirPods Studio. But multiple reports are claiming that the company will release the headphones later this year. Bloomberg reported (more like confirmed) that the new headphones from Apple will debut in Fall 2020. Apple Inc. is reportedly organizing a virtual event called Time Flies on September 15, where we would possibly hear about the AirPods Studio.
Apple is trying to enter the over-ear headphone market to compete against Beats. The report says the price would be similar to the current Beats Studio. If that so, then the upcoming AirPods Studio will cost around $349. There are chances that the price could fall and be cheaper in comparison to Beats Studio.
AirPods Studio Features
There have been several rumors regarding the design and features of the upcoming headphones from Apple. The device will certainly focus on high-end components and incredible performance in comparison to other headphones in the market. The most-talked features of the AirPods Studio is the active noise canceling feature. AirPods Studio will also have the head and neck detection — a feature similar to ear detection in AirPods.
The sound quality in the Studio will be more remarkable and better than the current generation of AirPods and AirPods Pro. AirPods Studio will have an equalizer setting, which is not available in both AirPods and AirPods Pro. A user would be able to control the equalizer setting through iOS or Mac devices.
