Snapdragon 875 will have Multiple Variants and 50% More Expensive, Release Date, Price, Features, and Leaks

Qualcomm hasn’t revealed about the upcoming next-generation chipset, but we know it is coming. Several tipsters have claimed that the company will reveal the details later this year and may even launch by the end of the year. The new updates reported that the upcoming chipset, Snapdragon 875 may arrive in multiple variants or the Lite variant.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 would be the most advanced chipset ever designed by the company. An earlier report claimed that the Taiwanese Semiconductor Manufacturing Company had started the mass production of the flagship chipset for the Qualcomm. The upcoming chipset is set to become the Qualcomm’s most expensive chipset ever.

Snapdragon 875 Price

The Snapdragon 875 will have a massive price increment, almost double than the previous Snapdragon. The price has always increased over the years. The increment in the price of this chipsets means the increment in the value of flagship phones. One good example is OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro. The upcoming chipset will feature the 5G-enabled modules and thus increasing the overall value of the chipset.

A recently emerged post reported that the Snapdragon 875 SoC would cost around $130, which is a massive $45 increment from the previous version. The whole package of the new Snapdragon 875 could go up to $250. The current flagship phones from the OnePlus — the OnePlus 8 series — cost around $700 and $900. If the upcoming OnePlus phone features the Snapdragon 875, which it will (certainly), then the price may cross $1000 mark.

Snapdragon 875 Specifications

The next-gen chipset will feature the custom Cortex-A78 cores and the Cortex-X1 Super Core. The configuration will be the previous 1+3+4 core configuration. The Super Core reportedly will improve the chipset’s overall performance by 30%. The custom Cortex-A78 cores will also increase the performance by potential 20 per cent. An earlier report claimed that Qualcomm has been investing around 6,000 to 10,000 5nm wafers every month in the semiconductor company for the 875 chipsets. The Snapdragon 875 will also feature the Adreno 660 GPU.
