With the amazing success of the latest OnePlus Nord, OnePlus is tending more into the reproduction of mid-range, budget-friendly smartphones. AndroidCentral recently reported that the company is reportedly working one the new entry-level OnePlus phone, also called OnePlus Clover.
OnePlus phones have impressive performance and quality, with the best available internal hardware components. The company went with the Snapdragon 765G chipset in recently released Nord, instead of the Snapdragon 800 series. The next entry-level phone — codenamed Clover — will feature even low-level chipset, the Snapdragon 460. However, this chipset is popular among several other entry-level smartphones in the market.
Even the Snapdragon 460 has four Cortex A73 cores and four A53 cores and immensely popular with entry-level phones from other bands, they are not as good as the Snapdragon 765G. We don’t know why the company desperately needs to enter in the entry-level market, as OnePlus has been releasing premium phones with flagships chipsets. But we can assume that the company wants to get a mainstream like Xiaomi, Realme, etc and grow sale numbers.
