A major leak reports that OnePlus will release OnePlus Nord 2, at the end of September, just after three months gap of releasing OnePlus Nord. OnePlus Nord hasn’t still hit the US Markets, and the second-generation Nord will release in India later this year.
A Twitter user who has the username @chunvn8888 claimed that the smartphone manufacturing company is currently developing a phone with a Snapdragon 662 (or 665). The leaker also mentioned another mobile manufacturer, Oppo is also bringing a new phone with a similar chipset and price in early September.
The renowend tipster also revealed the price of the upcoming Nord 2, which between 16,000 to 18,000 Indian Rupees (US$217 to US$244). This means that the phone would be cheaper than the currently priced Nord that is somewhat believable as OnePlus tends to release more mid-rang phone. There have been multiple rumors regarding the release of mid-range and entry-level phones by OnePlus.
OnePlus Nord 2 is 4g-only
OnePlus is reportedly testing another handset that features Snapdragon 690 chip. This mobile phone is less powerful than the current Nord but features 5G connectivity. However, the phone will be more powerful than the rumored Nord 2, which features Snapdragon 662/665 chipset. Reports claim that OnePlus has been enjoying market success with the Nord. Such that they are planning to launch the second-generation Nord in the market.
The rumored Nord 2’s Snapdragon 662/665 chipset is 4G only. And that is why the device is arguably cheaper than the current Nord. Elsewhere, there are reports that the phone may not be called Nord 2. The phone may be named Nord Lite or even OnePlus Aurora, which has been making noises around the internet lately.
That’s not the only phone from OnePlus at the end of Septemeber. We may possible get our hands on the other phones from the 8 series — called the OnePlus 8T and OnePlus 8T Pro. While these new phones have a lot of similarities with the current OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro, it would possibly feature the new chipset from Qualcomm — the Snapdragon 865 Plus.
