Power outages throughout Acadiana, now what next: Hurricane Laura

About 125,000 residences and industries in Acadiana were without power as Hurricane Laura began again to nudge north early Thursday dawn.

What came about?

As of 6 a.m. Thursday, the great breezes and rain from Laura resulted in extensive power outages in the state, with more than 269,000 power consumers without electricity three hours after Laura brought about landfall near Lake Charles and commenced trailing north.

Generator security tips:

 

1. Don’t attempt to hook up the entire cottage unless it’s accomplished with a double-throw change – this can result in electricity to be fed back to utility personnel and effect them to be electrocuted.
